The Ministry of Culture announced its participation in the activities of the 55th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which starts from January 24 and continues until February 6.
The Ministry of Culture’s participation comes in displaying Qatari intellectual production, promoting the Ministry of Culture’s electronic library, as well as enhancing cultural and intellectual communication.
A group of Qatari publishing houses are scheduled to participate in the exhibition, including Al Watad Publishing and Distribution House, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Publishing House, and the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.
In this context, Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of the Libraries Department and the Doha International Book Fair, said: “The Qatari participation in the Cairo International Book Fair aims to build new relationships with those working in the field of culture and the publishing industry, displaying the Qatari intellectual production of Qatari publishing houses, and promoting the Doha International Book Fair”.
Al-Buainain explained that the Ministry of Culture’s participation includes displaying the Ministry’s various and new publications in various knowledge sciences, including novels, law, social sciences and humanities, in addition to distinctive publications of children and youth books.
