The Ministry of Culture decided on Monday to allow children into the Doha International Book Fair between January 18 and January 22 for five hours in the evening. Children are required to be accompanied by adults or in school groups with adult supervision, provided that the number of children does not exceed 15% of those present.
The Ministry of Culture announced that it will implement child safety measures at the book fair by ensuring good ventilation in all of its venues. The 31st Doha International Book Fair, which opened its doors to visitors last Thursday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, is celebrating its 50th anniversary, as it first started in 1972. The theme for this year’s fair is “Knowledge is light.” The Doha International Book Fair is the first of its kind in Qatar and in the Gulf region.
