The activities of the 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World will begin today, under the slogan (Towards Renewing Cultural Work in the Islamic World), at the Sheraton Doha Hotel. The agenda of the first day of the opening ceremony of the Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World includes holding the Conference of Ministers of Culture, as well as holding a symposium entitled (The Impact of Islamic Civilization on Humanity). On the sidelines of the exhibition, a group of exhibitions and events accompanying the conference will be held, including (a photo exhibition, a drawing exhibition related to the State of Qatar and Islamic culture, and the ISESCO pavilion, in addition to the participation of a group of centers affiliated with the Ministry of Culture). The State of Qatar’s hosting of the Ministerial Conference is the culmination of the efforts of the Ministry of Culture to support joint cultural work and consolidate the traditions of cultural and civilizational exchange among the peoples of the Islamic world. It also confirms the common civilizational and cultural values on which the state’s vision for a diverse and rich Arab-Islamic cultural scene is established.

Intellectuals, academics, and writers, in videos broadcast by the Ministry of Culture on its account on the X platform, confirmed the importance of this event, and pointed out that it is an opportunity to develop a new, unified cultural perspective for Islamic countries. His Excellency Dr. Hassan Al-Nama said, “The Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World is an honorable embrace of the aspirations of our peoples to keep pace with growth and development and to continue the path of human culture.” Theater critic Dr. Hassan Rashid said that the slogan of this year’s Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World (Renewing Cultural Discourse) is one of the most important slogans that has been presented in 10 years.

The journalist and writer, Dr. Abdullah Faraj Al-Marzouqi said that the State of Qatar is keen to host such conferences due to their importance, pointing out that culture is a shield for every nation. Poet Lahdan Al-Kubaisi believed that the importance of the Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World lies in promoting a constructive civilized and cultural discussion among member states, and embodying their ambition to reach a general point of communication among them. While the poet Muhammad Hazza Al-Khayareen pointed out that the State of Qatar’s hosting of the Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World comes in light of the Ministry of Culture’s keenness to root culture in society and preserve the Islamic heritage. Poet Hamad bin Saleh Al Marri said that the importance of the State of Qatar hosting the Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World comes in the context of reflecting the pivotal and cultural role of the State of Qatar in the region and the world. Writer and poet Ali Al-Masoudi confirmed that the meeting of culture ministers from the Islamic world in Qatar confirms that Doha is a cultural incubator and work towards Arab and Islamic harmony. While Dr. Aisha Yousef Al-Mannai/ Director of the Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani Center for Muslim Contributions to Civilization – Hamad Bin Khalifa University, believed that the Ministry of Culture and the Group of Islamic Countries aim to develop a correct perspective, through which all means of thinking, culture, customs and traditions are based on correct Islamic values and morals. Dr. Youssef Al-Siddiqi (Professor at Qatar University) welcomed the ministers of the Islamic world and scholars and thinkers of Islamic societies to this conference and congratulated Qatar and the Muslims on the ministers’ choice to highlight what is related to Islamic culture. The poet Shabib bin Arar Al-Nuaimi (Director of the Qatar Poetry Center) considered that the cultural aspect is one of the elements of the renaissance of any community. Regarding the organizational aspect, economic expert Mubarak Al-Khayareen said: The State of Qatar will certainly make its utmost efforts to make the conference a success.
