The activities of Darb Al Saai witnessed the holding of a new symposium entitled “Qatari Women… Great Roles and Achievements in Society”, as part of the activities of the National Day 2022, in which Dr. Aisha Al-Mannai, the Director of Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani Center for Muslim Contributions to Civilization at the College of Islamic Studies, participated in it at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and Dr. Aisha Jassim Al-Kuwari, the Director General of the Qatari Forum for Authors, and journalist Hessa Al-Suwaidi, and it was introduced by Ahmed Al-Suwaidi.

The participants in the symposium confirmed that Qatari women have achieved many achievements in various fields, thanks to the attention and appreciation they receive from the state, which pushes them to give more to serve the country.

In turn, Dr. Aisha Al-Mannai discussed the role of the Qatari women during the recent period and her multiple contributions and her Islamic background, with openness to the West, and at the same time her adherence to the customs and traditions established in society and her endeavor to raise her children, according to this picture.

She said that: The woman has long since become in the ranks of the Qatari man, and she did not develop alone, but developed with her brother, the man, and that they are moving forward together for the sake of building and dedication to serve the country.

She continued by saying that: The woman is moving towards the right path of building and giving in a deliberate way, in which she preserves her hobbies and values, as well as her openness to the other in a conscious manner, without being drawn into the destructive calls for the family.

On how the Qatari women protect themselves and preserve their heritage and culture, Dr. Aisha Al-Mannai affirmed that the Qatari women are immunized by religion, away from extremism, while adhering to values ​​and customs, in addition to respecting the cultures of others, peaceful coexistence and respect for others and their beliefs, which is what the State of Qatar achieves, and appreciating women’s access to all fields.

As for Dr. Aisha Al-Kuwari, she said that: We are fortunate, and we have obtained rights without struggle, unlike others. The right to education, work, and inheritance is guaranteed to everyone according to Islamic law, and reality proves the presence of women in all areas of life and they walk side by side with their male brothers to achieve Qatar Vision 2030.

She added by saying that women contribute positively to the achievement of the national strategy, in which everyone shares responsibility. She supported what Dr. Aisha Al-Mannai said about Qatari women’s pride in their identity and heritage, and that they always carry our identity with them wherever they are.

She continued by saying that: There are Qatari women who have proven their success inside and outside the country, while being proud of their identity, pointing out that there are female writers who have a major role in transmitting the Qatari culture to the other through the Qatari novel and other literary works.

About her vision of women breaking into the field of culture, she said that: The Qatari woman’s access to the cultural field is clear, which reflects her partnership in building the country, and that she is taking parallel steps with men towards serving the country, based on the fact that the intellectual is the mirror of society.

In turn, the journalist, Hessa Al-Suwaidi, said: As a Qatari intellectual, she has a Qatari heritage that she is proud of, and on this basis her thoughts and beliefs are founded, pointing out that it carries the local culture openly to the other world to serve its entrepreneurship, in addition to culture and media.

She added that there is a Qatari woman’s adherence to the roots of the Islamic religion, which is rooted in society, and that she represents her country as the best representation of her faith in every step she takes towards her country, which means that there is interest in women.

On her vision of modernity and contemporary for Qatari women, she emphasized that the Qatari woman, while preserving her originality and privacy, is open to other cultures and adopts the modernity of the era, which means that the Qatari woman as an intellectual combines the elements of originality and modernity.
