The Qatar Social and Cultural Center for the Blind, in partnership with the Itqan Initiative of the Etizan Center for Administrative Training and Development, organized a workshop entitled: Self-coaching, presented by trainer Ghada Seif Al-Kuwari, and broadcasted via the zoom application. During which she shed light on several axes, including: What is self-coaching? And the “self-coaching model” method, and do you need a coach in the presence of this pattern?


At the beginning of her speech, she stated that coaching in general is a partnership with clients in a creative and thought-stimulating process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, and coaching often opens up previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.


She defined the process of self- coaching as a process of directing growth and individual development in both professional and personal areas. It is often used when people seek regain control over their actions and beliefs, thus, seeking positive changes in life. She added that self- coaching is a process of self- developing as well, which is based on self-awareness, knowing the requirements needed to achieve their intended goals and making changes which shall have positive impact on life.


Furthermore, she pointed out that the basis of self-coaching is self-awareness, and one of the areas of self-awareness is attention, restricted behaviors and restricted mentality.


She mentioned that there are several ways to prepare for self-coaching, including strengthening attention, self-monitoring and response capacity.
