Biography

Katara Publishing House is one of the cultural projects established by Katara Cultural Village. It aims to provide a local and international platform for literary and cultural production and publish it at Arabic and international levels. Additionally, it desires to contribute to promoting interest in the Arabic novel as well as cultural studies and research in order to enhance knowledge and establish the Arab and Islamic cultural identity and heritage. This would be achieved through attracting elite authors, publish their works and introduce a vast and varied selection of publications.

In 2018, Katara Cultural Village established Katara Publishing House, which immediately published a selection of distinguished documentary and heritage, scientific and literary books, written by a group of Qatari authors. It also published, in English and French alongside Arabic, the fiction works and critical studies that won the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel during its previous editions, with the aims to encourage intellectuals and writers to publish their creative works. This initiative made by Katara Cultural Village is in line with its support for writers and authors to activate their role in enriching the knowledge and culture movement both in the State of Qatar and the Arab world.

Katara Publishing House most prominent publications: Diving for Pearl; Summary of Calculating Pearl Weight; Science and Education Pioneers in Qatar; Wooden Doors; Fire Snakes; Faces of a Fake Statue; Gravestone; Another Color of Sunset; Hajar
