Yesterday evening, the Qatari Authors Forum held a new episode of “Values and Habits” initiative on its YouTube Channel titled “Good Heart” as it is the initiative prepared by Professor Muhammad Al-Shabrawi and presented by Professor Salem Al-Jahwashi.

Mr. Salem Al- Jahwashi began the episode saying “Good heart means that the human is free from defects and that one of Allah’s most beautiful names is peace. Mr. Salem says that chest is the front of everything and the front of the thing is its higher part and he recited words of Almighty God saying ” “Whether you hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it all: He knows what is in the heavens, and what is on earth. And Allah has power over all things”. Also, he mentioned saying of our generous prophet saying “Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh, which, if it be whole, all the body is whole, and which, if it is diseased, all of [the body] is diseased. Truly, it is the heart.”

He said also “Man’s good heart raises his position before Allah and that grudge in heart doesn’t bring its owner anything but hatred and that the healthy beloved heart is one that wants good for people, not evil”.

He repeated the saying of the one who said “Someone who is superior doesn’t carry hatred and dignity doesn’t attain his nature”.

He cited the saying of Imam Ibn Taimiyyah, may God be pleased with him, “A healthy and praiseworthy heart is the one who wants good and not evil and the perfection of that is to know good and evil and not knowing evil will be a defect not to be praised”.

He also cited saying of Abu Firas Al-Hamdani when he said

“I knew evil not for evil but to be aware of it

And who doesn’t know evil from good will fall into it.

Mr. Salem Al-Jahwashi said that “It was said that the morals of men are ten: good heart, generosity of money, sincerity of the tongue, humility of soul, patience in distress, weeping in solitude, advice to people, compassion for believers, contemplation in mortality and the lesson in things”.

Also, he cited saying of Sufyan bin Dinar when he said “I told Abu Bashir, tell me about those who are before us. He said they used to work very little and they were rewarded a lot and I said why and he said “because of their good hearts”.

Al-Jahwashi continued saying “The good heart grants the man good thinking and brings him closer to good people and keeps him away from people of ugly words and deeds and sincerity and satisfaction with what God has decided are incentives (motives) of good heart”.
