The Scientific Club of the Ministry of Culture and Sports announced the timetable for the Challenge and Innovation Forum, which began to receive applications for participation last month, while it currently continues to receive applications until 31th of August. The list of participants will be announced on 15th of September, with the opening of the forum during Doha event, the capital of culture of the Islamic world, 2021, on the 7th of November and it shall continue till the 21st of November, which is the day that will witness the closing ceremony and the announcement of the winners.
The forum, which is held under the slogan “With the mind, we Solve Knots” includes a number of interactive scientific competitions, events and programs aimed at stimulating and encouraging all segments of national and international society, the first of its kind at the regional level, and two major competitions, namely the Exhibition of Best Inventions and the Collective innovations (Hackathon).
The Best Inventions Competition is designed to present the creators’ projects individually at the first two days of the Forum. Participants will then be divided into groups, where they will compete to develop their unique ideas from the stage of being only a mere idea to the emerging company stage in just 48 hours. Support will be provided to all participants during the competitions, and the total awards in the first phase (invention exhibition) amounts to 100,000 US dollars. During which participants will compete with their inventions in a special suit, a group of judges will evaluate the best ideas over the first two days, and in the second phase (hackathon), with a total prize value of 150 000 US dollars, participants will be distributed into groups, and competition will be with other teams to develop new ideas from the idea stage to the start-up company stage of a hackathon competition for 48 hours.
The forum contributes to attracting the interest of the international community to learn more about the latest updates in the fields of innovation and modern technologies. In addition to providing the opportunity to learn about a number of youth participation and achievements. The forum will also include a number of accompanying events such as an exhibition of interactive intelligence devices, workshops to attract and motivate young people to engage in the areas of science, innovation, and much more.
