The winners of the Nadhra Award will be honored on March 21, which marks World Poetry Day. The competition is held every month by the Ministry of Culture’s Qatar Center for Poetry (Diwan Al-Arab). The December 2021 edition of the competition was focused on Spanish poetry by writers in Argentina and by Argentinian residents in Qatar.

The first edition of the competition was dedicated to Arabic poetry, but later editions focused on poetry in other languages to make the competition national, regional, and global. The main objective of the competition is to enrich the poetry scene and promote literary production in Qatar through its digital platforms. Moreover, the competition aims to globalize the poetry scene across languages and borders.

The competition, which has attracted remarkable attention on social media sites, maintains its focus on the expression of different aspects of the human condition, thus reflecting the vision of the Ministry of Culture.
