In framework of its readiness to participate in the Doha International Book Fair in its 30th edition, which will be held from 9 to 18 January 2020, the Qatari Forum for Authors is organizing a seminar on “The Role of Book Exhibitions in Promoting the Cultural Movement” this Wednesday evening at 7 pm at Bait Al-Hikma (House of Wisdom) Hall at the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Mr. Bashar Shebaro, Executive Director of Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press and the Secretary-General of the Arab Publishers Association; Ms. Aisha Jassim Al Kuwari, CEO of Rosa Publishing House and Mr. Radi Al Hajri, Executive Director of Dar Zakrit will be attending the seminar. The session will be managed by Ms. Kaltham Abdulrahman, researcher and critic. Speakers will shed lights on the significance of the role of book fairs in improving literary production and promoting the cultural movement.
The Qatari Forum for Authors had organized a discussion workshop to introduce intellectual rights of authors and publishers last Monday under the supervision of Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani, Legal Expert and Assistant Director of the Intellectual Property Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Mr. Jathnan Al-Hajri, Board Member of the Qatar Lawyers Association; in which valuable information was provided to authors and publishers on methods of protecting intellectual rights, so that they could avoid problems they might encounter in writing or publishing.
