The Doha Girls Centre, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, continues its competition about instilling a set of customs, traditions and values that we have been brought up with, making sure to communicate it to new generations in order to help them refine their personalities, especially in light of the widespread use of the Internet and modern devices. Such modern means of technology open the minds of our sons and daughters to different cultures. it bears more damages than benefits. The competition is entitled: “In Ramadan .. Benefiting and having fun is our role, and sitting at home is yours.”
The competition is directed to the girls’ category from the age of 8 years and above, and is launched through the private social networking sites (Doha Girls Centre), in cooperation with the “Al-Mashmoom Fashion Operator” and “In Three” and “Coca Qatar” where the authorities presented prizes for the winners.
The Doha Girls Centre, via its various digital platforms, have posted videos every Tuesday over three weeks of the holy month of Ramadan. In these videos, coach Nadia Al Mannai presented valuable information about Qatari Traditions and customs. A question was asked about the episode at the end of the video, and the coach invited the girls to participate in the competition. The competition aims at fulfilling the vision of the Ministry of Culture and Sports “Towards a conscious society with an authentic affection and a healthy body”, and within the framework of Doha Girls Centre’s efforts to preserve Qatari heritage and enhance the national identity.
