Al Khor Sports Club, in cooperation with Tamim Toastmasters, launched a rhetoric competition “The Challengers’ Challenges”, under the supervision of the Youth Affairs Department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and sponsored by Qatar Energy Co.. Participants in the competition compete to talk about the Corona crisis, and the prize money for the competition is estimated at 15,000 riyals. The competition continues until the sixteenth of this month. Mr. Ghanem Abdullah Al-Muhannadi, Head of Al-Khor Sports Club, said that the art of rhetoric competition aims to discover the skills of young people in classical Arabic by measuring the extent of their ability to deliver and represent body language and evoke scientific knowledge and the presence of self-confidence. It also aims to revive the art of rhetoric and interest in it and encourage young people to oratory and to confront the public. About the conditions and method of participation, Mr. Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi, Vice-President of the Social Cultural Committee, stated that this competition, which was announced through the club’s electronic platforms, targets the age group of 14-18 years of both sexes from within Qatar and the participation is from 4 to 6 minutes. He further added that the competition aims to encourage young people in these exceptional circumstances to stay at home.
