A number of Their Excellency, Ambassadors of Arab countries, praised the organization and activities of Doha International Book Fair in its thirty-second edition, which is being held this year under the slogan “By Reading, We Rise” at Doha Exhibition and Conferences Center.
On the sidelines of their visit to the exhibition, their Excellency stressed that the exhibition has become an important station on the culture map because it embraces different cultures, which adds to the record of the State of Qatar in organizing major events.
His Highness Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, the Ambassador of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar, said that the current edition of Doha Book Fair is very distinguished and emphasizes the importance of the fair, the facilities available and the many participations from different countries of the world, appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Culture to organize and make the exhibition a success, appreciating the At the same time, the success of the Saudi pavilion is the guest of honor of the exhibition.
For his part, His Excellency Mr. Zaid Mufleh Al-Lawzi, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State, said that Doha exhibition is one of the important exhibitions, in which each version is distinguished from the previous one, so we find renewal and wider participation year after year, pointing out that the exhibition is an opportunity for publishing houses to introduce their new publications, as well as an opportunity Countries are invited to introduce their cultures to their cultural heritage, pointing out that the Jordanian participation this year is large and amounts to (52) houses, which is the largest participation of Jordanian publishers in the exhibition.
His Excellency the Jordanian Ambassador revealed that the Jordanian interest in Doha Fair comes within the framework of strengthening the continuous cultural cooperation between the two countries, especially that the State of Qatar will be the guest of honor at the Amman International Book Fair next September.
In the same context, His Excellency Mr. Rajeh Hussain Farhan Badi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the State, said that Doha International Book Fair brought books back to the heart and mind in light of the information revolution and social networking sites, so we feel nostalgic and a constant desire to visit him and see the accompanying activities and events, expressing his happiness of the Yemeni participation which comes after an absence of 20 years, as the Yemeni General Book Organization participates this year in the exhibition, which is considered the best, adding to Qatar’s track record in organizing major international events, which confirms that Qatar offers a lot to Arab culture.
He added by saying that the book fair in Doha, with its elegant and dazzling organization, in which we find the fragrant history with a refined and exquisite civilized flavor, has proven that the book is still present in the heart despite the massive technological revolution.
In turn, His Excellency Mr. Amr Kamal El-Din El-Sherbiny, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the State, said that Doha Book Fair is an honorable facade that confirms the success of the State of Qatar in hosting cultural events and international exhibitions, stressing Egypt’s keenness to have a cultural presence at the fair, where Her Excellency Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani attended the opening. The Egyptian Minister of Culture, who met during her visit, His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani, the Minister of Culture, and Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums, where it was agreed to enhance cultural cooperation between the two countries in various cultural fields, whether related to the arts or related to exhibits artistic as well as joint activities.
He pointed out that the Egyptian participation is the largest in this exhibition, with (54) publishing houses participating, which confirms the depth of cultural relations between Egypt and Qatar, and the interest in the Egyptian cultural presence in the exhibition and participation in it.
