Yesterday, Al Jasra Cultural and Social Club organized a sports festival on the occasion of National Sports Day, where several events were organized at the club’s headquarters in Souq Waqif, observing all the precautionary measures recommended by the Ministry of Public Health, as the events were held with a specific number of participants, and in an open space. These events witnessed the participation of young people, who interacted with the activities offered by the club, in which they engaged with great enthusiasm and sense of competition. The activities included football matches (six-a-side), and competitions for throwing the ball (basketball), scoring in the goal (football), tug of war, table tennis doubles, snooker and others.
Mr. Mohamed Saeed Ibrahim, Treasurer of the Club’s Board of Directors and Supervisor of the event, thanked everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event, especially the youth, who enthusiastically participated in the activities in an atmosphere of fun and joy.
He expressed his hope that the goal of the event was achieved, namely the dissemination of sports culture among people to enhance their interest in sports, and raising their awareness to making it an integral part of daily life activities, as it contributes to achieving a healthy life free of epidemics and diseases. He noted that the club’s doors are open for everyone to participate in the club’s upcoming activities, as well as its various events. At the end of the activities, healthy meals and gifts were distributed to the participants and prizes were offered to the winners of the competitions.
