His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al-Kuwari, the Minister of State and the President of Qatar National Library, and His Excellency Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al-Derham, the President of Qatar University, visited yesterday evening the Darb Al Saai headquarters in Umm Salal, and they were accompanied by His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani, the Minister of Culture. They toured Darb Al Saai, where His Excellency briefed them on a number of heritage and cultural events.
Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, the President of Qatar University, expressed his happiness at visiting Darb Al Saai in its new version and the permanent headquarters in Umm Salal, and learning about the new and distinguished activities. He praised the organization, which he considered remarkable, as he said: “The first thing that caught my eye was the good and distinguished planning and the distribution of events, paragraphs, and participations in a very organized manner.”
His Excellency added that Darb Al Saai this year contains many new activities and ideas that are presented for the first time, appreciating the participation of parents, families and children, citizens, residents, guests and visitors of the State of Qatar in the paragraphs and activities of Darb Al Saai. His Excellency also thanked the Ministry of Culture for what it provided and presented to the general public
During the tour, the President of Qatar National Library and the President of Qatar University got acquainted with some of the activities, such as Al-Bidaa activities, Al-Izba, Al-Nasa’, and traditional crafts. They also reviewed exhibitions in “Liwan Art”, in addition to attending a part of the “Poetry and Values” symposium at Darb Al Saai Theater.
