The Ministry of Culture has announced its participation in the 27th Rabat International Book Fair, organized by Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, with the participation of 55 countries. At its dedicated pavilion, the Ministry will showcase a selection of its distinguished publications, alongside works from four Qatari publishing houses, in a continued effort to support Qatari publishers and provide them with opportunities to present their output at prominent international cultural forums.
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to participating in international book fairs, recognizing them as vital platforms to present Qatar’s intellectual and literary production to a broad readership. These events also serve as an opportunity to highlight the nation’s growing publishing industry, foster cultural partnerships, and enhance collaboration with professionals in the fields of literature and publishing.
In this context, Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al-Buainain, Director of the Libraries Department and Doha International Book Fair, stated:
“The Ministry of Culture is taking part in the Rabat International Book Fair to reflect aspects of Qatari literature and culture. The pavilion will feature a range of the Ministry’s latest and diverse publications spanning various fields, including literature, law, social sciences, and humanities, as well as notable titles in children’s and young adult literature.”
Al-Buainain further noted that the Ministry’s participation aims to forge new relationships with stakeholders in the cultural and publishing sectors, while also providing a platform to present Qatari intellectual contributions through the works of local publishing houses.
