In the presence of the Director of the Department of Culture and Arts and representatives from participating theatre troupes and production companies, the organizing committee of the 37th Doha Theatre Festival held the official draw to determine the performance schedule. The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Culture’s new headquarters.
The draw was attended by Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Dulaimi, Director of the Department of Culture and Arts; Mr. Abdulrahim Al-Siddiqi, Director General of the Theater Affairs Center; and representatives of the participating theatre groups and production companies.
The draw resulted in the finalization of the performance calendar, officially launching the final preparation phase for the much-anticipated festival. The scheduled lineup is as follows:
The performance schedule for the 37th Doha Theatre Festival has been finalized, featuring a diverse lineup of plays running from May 21 to May 30. The festival will open with “A Notorious Being” by Al-Mawal Production Company on May 21, followed by “Drowning” by Al-Watan Theatre Troupe on May 22. On May 23, “Nine O’clock” will be presented by Qatar Theatre Troupe, while May 24 will feature “You Are Invited to a Party” by Tethkar Production Company. “The Stranger” by Ishhar Production Company is scheduled for May 25, and “The Captain” by Jusoor Production Company will take the stage on May 26. Audiences can then enjoy “Palm Trees” by Fada’iya Production Company on May 27, and “Scent of Cardamom” by Doha Theatre Troupe on May 28. The lineup continues with “Clowns Wanted” by Al-Saeed Production Company on May 29, and concludes with “Al-Bahloul” by Msheireb Production Company on May 30.
The festival will conclude with a closing ceremony on Saturday, May 31.
Commenting on the event, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Dulaimi stated:
“The Doha Theatre Festival is a platform for healthy competition among local theatre troupes striving for excellence and creativity. Innovation benefits both the artists and the audience. In recent years, Qatar’s theatre scene has seen promising momentum.”

From his side, Mr. Abdulrahim Al-Siddiqi said:
“The draw outlines the schedule for the 37th Doha Theatre Festival, running from May 21 to the end of the month. Seven production companies and three local troupes are participating. The Ministry of Culture has allocated generous funding and ensured equal support for all groups involved.”
