His Excellency Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Culture, inaugurated today the Qatari Cultural Week in Azerbaijan, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Hajri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Azerbaijan.
Dr. Ghanem bin Mubarak Al-Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, stated that the Qatari Cultural Week in Azerbaijan is part of a series of cultural weeks organized by the Ministry of Culture in several friendly countries as part of its cultural diplomacy efforts.
He explained that the objective of the cultural week is to introduce Qatari arts, culture, and heritage, emphasizing that culture has always served as a bridge of communication and a foundation for bringing peoples closer together through the exchange of their cultural expressions.
The opening ceremony featured a musical performance by a full ensemble, presenting a selection of Qatari folkloric songs in a contemporary style that blended tradition with innovation. The performance was delivered by a group of artists and accompanied by interactive visual displays highlighting Qatar’s rich heritage and its vibrant present.
The Qatari Cultural Week in Azerbaijan is held within the framework of strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation and exchange between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Azerbaijan. It aims to spotlight Qatari culture and heritage, promote cultural exchange between the two countries, and reaffirm the shared commitment to making culture a powerful bridge between their peoples.
