Yesterday, the curtain fell on the thirty-fifth edition of Doha Theater Festival, with a performance presented by the Stage Group under the title “Bleeding of Age”, at the Drama Theater in Katara Cultural Village. It is worth mentioning that the work was written by Dr. Hassan Rashid, directed by Ali Al-Sharshani, acting and starring by Ali Al-Khalaf and Hanan Sadiq, and scenography and drama by Fahad Al-Baker.
For his part, the artist Ali Al-Khalaf confirmed that the show had participated in with the artist and director Fahd Al-Baker nearly twenty years ago at the Kuwaiti Gulf Festival, and the text bears the signature of Dr. Hassan Rashid, indicating that he was so impressed with the text and the presentation that he decided to resubmit one day with a new vision and look. Al-Khalaf indicated that since its presentation in Kuwait, he has been thinking about the occasion or event in which he will re-present this wonderful show, until this edition of the festival came to witness the re-show again, to be watched by a new generation of playwrights, in addition to the great stars and professors in the theater. Al-Khalaf said that he worked hard with the artist Hanan Al-Sadiq, who shared the stage with him during this show, to reflect together the conflict and rivalry between husband and wife, theatrically and realistically.
It is worth mentioning that Doha Theater Festival is considered the oldest festival in the region, and its latest edition bears new imprints this year, as the various theater entities paralleled during it, so the Qatari theater groups participated in three performances, namely: Qatar Ensemble with the theatrical performance “Fourth Generation”, and Doha Ensemble with the theatrical performance “Wadi Al-Majadir”, and Al-Watan Ensemble with the theatrical performance “Part of the text is stolen”, in addition to the participation of private companies, namely: Al-Saeed Artistic Production and Presentation of the theatrical show “Escape”, and Souvenir Artistic Production in the play “Al-Mughassil”, and Q Fun Artistic Production in the play “Shoes Wiper”, and Cochnell Production with the play “Oud Al-Henna”, and finally the Stage Group with the play “Bleeding of Age.”
