Today, the Ministry of Culture is holding a symposium entitled “Creativity and Innovation in Culture” on the occasion of the International Day for Diversity and Innovation in Culture, at 9 o’clock sharp in the evening, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the House of Wisdom Hall. The symposium, organized by the Department of Culture and Arts, will witness the names of a group of speakers who will in turn present many axes that will set a framework for what is being achieved culturally during the current period, while ensuring excellence in terms of innovation and making it different. In this context, the expected symposium will embrace speeches by Ms. Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, and Ms. Amna Rashid Al Buainain, Director of the Planning, Quality and Innovation Department at the Ministry of Culture, and Ms. Haifa Abdulrahman Al-Abdullah, Director of Innovation at Qatar Science and Technology Park.
The United Nations General Assembly has previously declared April 21 of each year as the International Day for Innovation and Creativity to raise awareness of the role of creativity and innovation in all aspects of human development, based on the lack of a specific global understanding of the concept of creativity, which makes it a concept open to interpretations, starting with artistic expression and ending with problem-solving skills within the framework of sustainable economic and social development.
