The Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, organized a symposium entitled “The Mother between Job Responsibility and Education Tasks” as part of the events accompanying the Ramadan Book Fair, which will continue until next Sunday at Darb Al-Saai headquarters in Umm Salal. Dr. Mohammad Al-Enezi and Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Majidi participated in the symposium, which is considered the last in the series of symposiums held by the “Culture” in cooperation with the “Awqaf” in the exhibition.

The symposium dealt with the most important rules established by the Islamic Sharia to achieve a balance between the various tasks of the mother, which extend from her role in the home, then her role in society through the job that she may occupy, in order to achieve the equation that would preserve the entity of the family, and society in general. In the beginning, Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Majidi spoke about the Islamic law’s view of women’s work regulations, which he saw as needing to achieve balance and not prejudice her role in the family. He said that women are the ones who arrange all matters related to life, pointing out to the importance of the role assigned to them, in terms of preparing men and women of the future through raising a new generation. Al-Majidi talked about women doing many difficult jobs that require both physical and mental effort, indicating that they perform about 11 tasks at the same time, as they carry out the tasks of education, education, and housekeeping, in addition to doing a lot from field applications, in addition to carrying out or supervising many household tasks, Al-Majidi considered that it is necessary for women to have privacy in their working hours and time, so that they can achieve the equation between all those heavy tasks that they perform, and balance them, so that no task comes on another.

For his part, Dr. Mohammad Al-Enezi affirmed the importance of achieving a balance between women’s work and raising their children, stressing their ability to do so, and stressing that while women may excel in their work outside the home, many domestic tasks may fail to be accomplished by men. Al-Enezi said that: A person is to be compatible with himself, and here we come to the role that women play in society, and we find that they play a double role, inside and outside the home.
