Qatar Photography Center of the Ministry of Culture is participating in Ramadan Book Fair in its second edition, which will continue until next Sunday in Darb Al-Saai in Umm Salal.

The participation of Qatar Photography Center comes in the establishment of an illustrated fair in the corridors and corners of the Book Fair under the title “Ramadan Lens – Adaset Ramadan“, in addition to the establishment of a photography studio at the Fair headquarters.

Farha Al-Kuwari, the media officer at Qatar Photography Center, said in a statement that the Fair (Ramadan Lens – Adaset Ramadan) is a group fair for members of the center that includes 24 works by 22 photographers, indicating that the Fair observes the atmospheres of Ramadan such as reading the Holy Qur’an and Dhikr, Tahajjud in mosques, photos of mosques, Ramadan cannon and the mosques where the Fair depicts Ramadan atmospheres in Qatar and a number of States in the Islamic world and the accompanying popular dishes associated with this holy month.

She added that the center is also participating in an equipped studio that hosts the (30-minute challenge) competition, which is a provision of a studio for each photographer for a period of 30 minutes, equipped with equipment, staff, models and backgrounds that show a traditional Ramadan atmosphere for photography. At the end of the Fair, the best photos are selected, and the first three winners will receive financial prizes of 10,000 riyals for the first place, 6,000 riyals for the second place and 3,000 riyals for the winner of the third place.

She explained that Qatar Photography Center was keen to participate in the Garangao celebration where a studio was prepared to receive families who wish to photograph their children on this occasion, today, Wednesday and tomorrow, Thursday, from nine o’clock in the evening until twelve midnight, and it will be held at the center’s headquarters in the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, noting that the center is holding an external trip for night photography on Friday, April 7, so that the monthly meeting of the center’s members will be organized on a Ramadan food feast on Saturday, April 8.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Photography Center works to develop youth creativity in the field of photography and harness this art to document the beautiful moments as well as various feelings and sensations that the photographer can produce creatively, including what takes place in the holy month of Ramadan.
