The events of Sharjah International Book Fair, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, concluded today, with the distinguished participation of the Ministry of Culture and Qatari publishing houses, including Dar Al-Watad, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press and Qatar University Press.

The pavilion of the Ministry of Culture was visited by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. During his visit, he was briefed about the pavilion of the Ministry of Culture and was acquainted with the publications and the great role it plays in the diversity of publications and their translation.

The Ministry’s participation in international book fairs aims to present Qatari intellectual production to a wide audience of readers around the world and be acquainted with the continuous development in the publishing industry as well as building relationships with workers in the field of culture and the publishing industry.

The Ministry was keen, through the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum, to participate in the publishers’ conference that was held during the exhibition days, in which those interested in practicing translation and copyright rights in the Arab and international publishing market gathered.

It is noteworthy that the Sharjah International Book Fair has been held annually in the city of Sharjah since 1982 at the Sharjah Expo Center, under the supervision of the Sharjah Book Authority, as it is a platform for displaying new publications for a large number of publishers from different countries of the world.
