The Al-Jasra Cultural Hall will resume its activities after a break during the month of Ramadan and the Eid holiday. Dr. Khaled Al-Jaber will host a lecture next Saturday evening entitled, “The Media March in Qatar: Emerging Trends and Challenges of Development”
Dr. Khaled Al-Jaber holds a master’s degree in the United States and a doctorate degree in Britain.
“He is a researcher and academic who served as a professor of political communication at the Gulf Studies Program and an assistant professor in the media department at Qatar University.”
He also holds a Strategic Management and Leadership Diploma, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and a Diploma in Project Management in Private Enterprise, Stanford University, California, and a Diploma in Foreign Relations and International Cooperation, Fordham University, New York, United States of America.
Dr. Al-Jaber served as editor-in-chief of The Peninsula newspaper and previously served as deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Sharq daily newspaper. Director of the Department of Public Relations and Communication at the Cultural Neighborhood Foundation, Katara; Director of the Press and Media Monitoring Office at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Head of the Diplomatic Section of Al-Watan newspaper.
Dr. Al-Jaber is a researcher in Gulf, Arab and international studies that address political affairs, international relations, media and international communication, and the measurement of public opinion. Numerous books, research, reports and scientific papers have been published in accredited international academic and professional journals. He writes and publishes in several Gulf newspapers, including, Okaz (Saudi Arabia), Al-Qabas (Kuwait), Al-Khaleej (Bahrain) and Oman (Oman) newspaper, in addition to his regular contributions to Arab and foreign newspapers and magazines.
In his lecture, Dr. Khalid Al-Jaber will address the media establishment in Qatar, the circumstances surrounding this establishment, its course, and its aspirations for development, as well as the challenges that need to be addressed.
The meeting will be moderated by novelist Hanan Badie, coordinator of the Al-Jasra Cultural Hall, and will begin at 7.50 p.m. on Saturday, 28/05/2022, at the club’s headquarters in Souq Waqif.
