Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Chair of Qatar Museums Board of Trustees, made a visit yesterday to the Doha International Book Fair, during which she was accompanied by His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, Minister of Culture. Her Excellency made a tour in the exhibition’s pavilions, where she was informed about Qatari, Arab, and international publishers and their publications in various fields of culture, thought, and creativity.

In a tweet, Her Excellency said: “I had the pleasure of visiting the Doha International Book Fair, where I saw a wide range of publishing houses, and met Qatari and Qatar-resident writers. I congratulate H.E. Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al-Thani and his team on the success of the exhibition.

For his part, H.E. Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al-Thani posted on his Twitter account a video of the visit of H.E. Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani to the exhibition. He said: “I was pleased with the visit of H.E. Sheikha @almayassahamad to the 31st edition of the Doha International Book Fair, and to the publishing houses participating in it. Her Excellency has always expressed great interest in art and culture, and in providing support for cultural movement and diversity.

In another tweet, on the occasion of the closing of the 31st edition of the Doha International Book Fair, H.E. said: “We conclude (today) the 31st edition the activities of the Doha International Book Fair, and in doing so, we consolidate the localization of the book for its great importance, and in opening new horizons for knowledge and creativity…. The journey of the culture of our beloved homeland will continue and persist.
