As part of the “A Dialogue with” initiative, the Qatari Forum for Authors hosts next Monday a discussion session entitled “Qatari Media Between Reality and Expectation”, on its YouTube channel. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Malik is the guest to talk about this topic, and the session will be moderated by Dr. Ali Afifi.

The Forum also announced the hosting of a virtual training workshop on next Tuesday under the title: “Writing Stories in Children’s Literature”; by Iraqi poet and publisher Qassim Saudi. The workshop aims to introduce the process of writing a children’s short story, and to explore the most important artistic and aesthetic characteristics in learning the art of short story writing in children’s literature; accompanied by a variety of narrative exercises, promoting and stimulating the aesthetic and creative potential of the participants.

Poet Qassim Saudi is a member of the Union of Iraqi Writers. He established the “Lets Write in Baghdad” project to teach primary school students to write children short stories. In addition, his poetry collection “Chair of the Musician” won the third place in the Ether Poetry Award in Oman in 2014; issued by Dar Adnan in Baghdad. Qassim Saudi also won the third place in the Sharjah Arab Creativity Award in 2009 in children’s literature for his collection of stories “Tales of the Singing Dirham”.  His publications fall between poetry and children’s literature (stories), including: “Third Lung”, “Closed Lamp”, “What the Runner Did Not See”, “When I Saw You, I Mistook Grammar”, “Climbing on My Father’s Back”, and “Like a Capsized Wooden Boat in the Desert”.
