Maria Fernanda del Río, a social media activist, reviewed the biography of Qatari writer Jamal Faiz, as part of a new episode of “Get to Know a Writer from Qatar,” which the Qatari Authors’ Forum shows via his YouTube channel and social media platforms.

Maria said that Fayez is one of the most important authors in the State of Qatar and has a career full of achievements. He was born in Doha in 1964, he received the International Golden Phoenix Necklace from the Golden Phoenix International Travel Festival in its second session 2008-2011. He was also awarded the “Educator Award” from the Arab Cultural Summit held by the Arab Organization for Human Rights, the Association of Minds, Ibn Rushd University in the Netherlands, and the International Golden Phoenix Award on December 27, 2020 Erbil, Iraq.

She said: “Fayez was selected among 60 contemporary Arab short story and novel authors in an anthology of modern Arabic literature, published in a book entitled” literary reading for the advanced in Arabic ” by the British publishing house Routledge in 2016 to introduce American and European scholars to selected models of modern Arabic literature and to enrich their knowledge of Arabic literature.

Fayez has been an honorary member of Al-Jasra cultural and social club since 1996 and is a member of the founding committee of the Qatar writers and novelists Association and Secretary of the cultural creativity center from 2008 to 2010.

Fayez’s work has reached the world where some of his literary works have been translated into English, Swedish, Russian, French, Malayalam, Urdu, Polish and Persian.
