The Visual Arts Centre of the Ministry of Culture and Sports concluded its month – long summer program two days ago. The Center has closed the curtains on activities with a course in anime painting conducted by the artist Hamad Al-Mutawa, which is open to all groups to introduce anime art.

 

Al-Mutawa revealed to Al-Arabiya that the 3-day course enables the talented participants to master the drawing of anime characters step by step, with their application on leather mobile covers, in addition to introducing the areas that can be benefited from by using this type of art in practical life. .

 

He added: These courses are an opportunity to learn, develop skills, refine and develop talents, and that direct contact between the trainees and the trainer enables the exchange of experiences.

 

He emphasized that the session had targeted the group of boys and girls aged 17 and above and had been part of the Centre’s training program at the Doha Event of the Islamic World Capital of Culture, which had included courses and workshops in all fields.

 

Ms. Hoda Al-Yafei, Director of the Visual Arts Center, told Al-Arab that the summer program was a rich and varied program and included 7 courses, the first of which was the “Expressions” course: the course presenter, is the artist Wissam Mahmoud Radwan, and included learning about the prominent engraving method on the linoleum mold and the various engraving tools, The inking of the typographical template and obtaining copies of black and white prints, as well as the areas that can be benefited from using this printing method.

 

Among the courses included in the program was the “Islamic Ceramics” course, presented by artist Sawsan Al-Shaar, during which she touched upon the art of ceramics, its techniques and tools, how to design Islamic decorations on ceramics, Arabic calligraphy and its types and how to employ it to obtain a suitable design for use on the ceramic surface, in addition to building with my techniques. Slices and molds for the production of (mural – jar – plate), the technique of extrusion and deep engraving and the process of burning in kilns.

 

Al Yafei said that the program included a training course on “Dishes on the Wall” presented by the artist Wasfi Issa Al Hadidi  Through which, he was acquainted with the art of ceramics, its techniques and tools, and the manual formation on the electric wheel, which is represented in the preparation of clay – the formation of clay – the burning process – the glaze.
