The Qatari Scientific Club revealed the manufacture of the mobile sterilization unit using the UV Light Device from the third generation in terms of radial wavelength, in collaboration with the Hamad Medical Foundation and with the hands of the Qatari youth of the Scientific Club. The sterilization unit that was manufactured is an ideal solution to kill viruses and bacteria and is used effectively with Covid 19, based on documented scientific research, as it destroys the DNA of the virus, killing it or making it ineffective. It produces short wavelength rays, starting at 253 nanometers, which directly affects the organism’s DNA and has a circular coverage of 360 degrees and a capacity of 300 watts. The rooms and corridors of hospitals, schools, government buildings, shopping spaces and enclosed public spaces can be sterilized and cleared easily and conveniently and gives an efficiency of more than 95%,
This unit has also been installed on a remote-controlled robot so that the robot carrying the sterilization unit using ultraviolet rays can move within the various corridors and halls in order to sterilize them because it is connected to control, control and guidance centers.
From the very first moments of the Corona Covid 1999 pandemic, the Scientific Club felt that it had a prominent role to play in combating the pandemic by virtue of its competence as a supporter of innovation and innovators and on the basis of its community responsibility and in order to translate this responsibility into reality, it formed a specialized committee from the club to follow up on the implementation of projects and products related to combating impact of this pandemic.
With the aim of coordinating efforts and raising the level of quality of these products, a higher joint committee was formed from the management of the Scientific Club and Hamad Medical Corporation headed by Mr. Hamad Al Khalifa, Head of Health Facilities Development and Acting Head of Business Services, Dr. Nasser Al Ansari, Head of Infection Control, and Mr. Omar Hasnat, with the aim of cooperating in implementing projects and providing advice The club was not satisfied with the design and implementation of personal protective equipment, but also developed, designed and implemented robots that contribute to reducing the risk of the spread of the Corona virus.
For his part, Dr. Nasser Ali Al-Ansari, Head of Infection Control at the Hamad Medical Foundation, said that we had learned about the achievements of the Scientific Club in the field of equipment that helps medical staff to prevent the spread of the Corona Covid virus in 19. Now we’re visiting them for a new product and an advanced stage of achievement.
It is the mobile sterilization unit using ultraviolet rays, which is a national achievement of which we are all proud, as the unit installed on the robot can safely sterilize in various buildings and facilities by controlling the robot through a high-precision control system, and this is truly a great achievement and the fruit of cooperation and exchange of experiences. Between Hamad Medical Corporation and the Qatar Scientific Club.
Dr. Ansari added: I and a team of engineers and technical experts at the science club implemented the UV LIGHT sterilization device, which recent research and studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of using ultraviolet radiation to kill all types of viruses, including Covid virus. – 19, based on these data, we searched for the best plan for designing and implementing a highly efficient sterilization device that contributes to sterilizing surfaces within a very short period of time and reducing the spread of viruses.
He added that the device would be tested at Al-Wakrah Hospital at the present time to assess the experiment and access accurate data on the functioning of the device, the level of sterilization and the area that could be covered by the device. Two devices would be tried, one fixed and the other mobile
He explained that the probationary period would take between one and 10 days, expressing optimism about the success of the experiment and the ability of the device to achieve what was needed and thus its applicability in many hospitals and places to be sterilized quickly.
He explained that the use of the device is in cases of sterilization only after deep cleaning of the place using the necessary cleaning materials, and then the sterilization stage comes after that, which the device can, according to the initial data and information, do in a short time, noting that the ultraviolet rays used by the device are at safe rates. It does not cause any health damage, as this has been taken into account and the device is controlled remotely.
He pointed out that he was briefed on the achievements of the Scientific Club in the field of equipment that helps medical staff to prevent the outbreak of the Corona virus, Covid 19, noting that the new mobile sterilization unit using ultraviolet rays is a national achievement of which we are all proud, as the unit installed on the robot can carry out sterilization operations. The safety in various buildings and facilities by controlling the robot through a high-precision control system, and this is truly a great achievement and the fruit of cooperation and exchange of experiences between Hamad Medical Corporation and the Qatar Scientific Club.
Engineer Rashed Al-Rahimi, Executive Director of the Qatari Scientific Club, added that, on the basis of the need during the second wave of the Corona crisis, in collaboration with doctors and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and KAHRAMAA foundation, work has been done to manufacture the sterilization device in the club’s laboratories and through the use of modern technology, another updated version of the device was developed that works as a robot and is controlled by a control center so as to contribute to limiting the spread of the virus to large health facilities in a very short time. The available capabilities of devices, equipment, experts and engineers have contributed to the speedy implementation of the project, and delivered to Hamad Corporation in record time.
Al-Rahimi thanked the Ministry of Culture and Sports for its support of the club and the young innovators of the scientific club, as well as to the KAHRAMAA Foundation for its support for this project.
For his part, Dr. Sabah Al-Qadi, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of Al-Wakra Hospital, said that there is a great need for this device in Qatar, pointing out that one of the companies offered to import it to us from abroad at fictional prices, but it was manufactured in the Scientific Club at very low prices.
This is in fact a support for the national economy and support for the medical sector in particular, while at the same time encouraging talented and innovative Qatari youth to seek to innovate more assistive medical devices, and we hope that all sectors in the country will exploit the energies of young people, especially talented innovators.
He added saying: The launch of the device was of the utmost importance as it exhumed ultraviolet radiation, the task of which was to sterilize rooms and kill bacteria and viruses, and therefore there was no need to use regular steroids such as chlorine, Dettol, etc., which were operated in the room for a specific time to sterilize the surroundings, chairs and operating beds, for example.
