The Youth Centre for Hobbies organized its first virtual exhibition specialized in photography, entitled “Ramadan moments”. This exhibition used to be held by the Centre in Ramadan to show the spirituality of the holy month every year. This year, however, the exhibition is held virtually by resorting to online technology as the current circumstances forced everyone to home quarantine due to the spread of the Coronavirus. The exhibition displays its works through its website http://gallery.youthobbies.org/.
Works revolve around the customs of the holy month of Ramadan. They reflect the feelings of the participating artists regarding this holy month. They show through their illustrated works Ramadan scenes from different places within the State of Qatar. This included pictures of children in traditional clothes who live in the Ramadan ambience and everything that goes with the rituals and traditions of this holy month. In addition, they depict religious and spiritual activities in markets and Islamic architecture. The exhibition “Ramadan Moments” used to be organized by the Youth Hobby Centre every year to celebrate the blessed month of Ramadan. In that exhibition, members of the Centre represent the atmosphere of this holy month with a number of distinct images that include Ramadan spirituality, and also through a review of folk cuisine, masjids and children, in addition to other paintings and pictures of this holy month. This falls within the Centre’s continuing efforts during Ramadan and in proportion to its spirituality. On the other hand, the Centre announced the launch of a photography competition entitled “Ramadaniat”, which includes all Ramadhan activities, meals, clothes and customs. Valuable prizes for the competition are allocated. The first place winner will receive a sum of 5 thousand riyals, while second place will receive a sum of 3 thousand riyals.
