Media Center for Youth has announced that the interactive competition is extended to the next Wednesday upon request by the public. The MCY launched a distinguished competition as well as valuable prizes up to 15000, with a view of stimulating reading as well as motivating readers to share their opinions with the community creatively on social media sites. A participant can make a “video, design, or image” towards the aim of promoting writers and authors whether from Qatari citizens or residents. The works will be presented on the MCY’s account on Twitter. The post that has more likes by the followers will win. The first place winner will receive QR 7000 while the second will receive QR 5,000 and the third QR3000.
Dr. Hamad Al-Fayadh, Executive Director of the MCY, said, ‘Since its establishment, the MCY has been keen on adopting creative initiatives and ideas as well as providing an interactive incubator and a live platform to unleash the potential and creativity of young people in a way that contributes to enhancing their participation in community development and supporting the development process. Thus, it has been ensured that the MCY’s pavilion at the Doha International Book Fair contributes to promoting knowledge of the most prominent and latest artworks and literary publications of writers, authors and intellectuals as well as promoting them professionally. This is in addition to enhancing the importance of public participation in this matter through an interactive competition that we expect will promote the cultural interdependence and the interlinkage between the writers and their audience.’
