The Ministry of Culture announced its participation in Sharjah International Book Fair, whose activities begin today, Wednesday, until November 12.
The Ministry’s participation in the exhibition aims to display Qatari intellectual production, promote the Ministry of Culture’s electronic library, and enhance cultural and intellectual communication. A group of Qatari publishing houses are scheduled to participate in Sharjah International Book Fair. Among them are Dar Al Watad, Qatar University Publishing House, and Hamad Bin Khalifa University Publishing House.
Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al-Buainain, Director of the Department of Libraries and Doha International Book Fair, said: The Ministry of Culture participates in various publications in Sharjah International Book Fair, and the Ministry’s participation in the exhibition aims at building new relationships with those working in the field of culture and the publishing industry, in addition to displaying Qatari intellectual production of Qatari publishers.
Al-Buainain explained that the ministry’s participation includes presenting the ministry’s various and new publications in various knowledge sciences, including novels, law, social sciences and humanities, in addition to distinguished editions of children’s and young adult books.
