The Ministry of Culture organized a seminar titled “The Palestinian Arab-Islamic Identity…A Continuous Identity across Generations” in Bayt Al-Hikma Hall at the Ministry’s HQ. Mr. Samir Attia, Director of the Palestine House of Culture in Turkey, participated in it, and the seminar was moderated by Mrs. Maryam Yassin Al-Hammadi, Director of the Culture and Arts Department at the Ministry of Culture. In this context, Mr. Omar Attia said: In the seminar “The Palestinian Arab-Islamic Identity…A Continuous Identity across Generations”, we addressed the historical stations of the Palestinian identity, and why this identity was the subject of challenges at the internal Palestinian level and the level of the Palestinian diaspora, and the Arab roles in supporting the Palestinian case, in addition to providing clear answers to many inquiries related to Palestinian culture and identity.

For her part, Mrs. Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, said: Identity is the feeling of the common denominator among people as a social construct and not a natural state. This is linked to special representations that express belonging, which are (values, customs, traditions, and behaviour).

This seminar is being held in an exceptional circumstance today in the State of Palestine, whose people live amid challenges surrounding them and face them on their land and in their identity, pointing out that the Ministry of Culture was keen to hold this seminar to discuss the memory of generations in Palestine and abroad.
