The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture, is participating in the eighth session of the Lebanon International Book Fair 2023, during the period from October 13 to 23, at the Forum Exhibition and Convention Center in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al-Buainain, Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture, said that the Ministry’s participation in the eighth session of the Lebanon International Book Fair, which is considered one of the important international book fairs, comes within the framework of enhancing cultural and intellectual communication.
The Qatari participation aims to expand the circle of cooperation with those working in the field of culture and the publishing industry, in addition to displaying Qatari intellectual and literary production from the Ministry of Culture’s publications and holding meetings with exhibition officials and Arab publishing houses to discuss aspects of cooperation in authorship, translation and publishing.
In its eighth session, the Lebanon International Book Fair aims to encourage publishers, distributors, and cultural and educational institutions to increase the publishing and translation movement, activate the fundamental role of eliminating reluctance to read, encourage reading pioneers, and develop programs and foundations covering all areas and fields to keep pace with developments in the modern era in various fields.
