The Ministry of Culture announced its participation in the 22nd edition of the Amman International Book Fair, which will begin on September 21 and will last ten days, and the State of Qatar will be the guest of honor at this session.
The participation of the State of Qatar in the exhibition, considered one of the international book fairs, is part of the framework of improving cultural and intellectual communication between Qatar and Jordan, since a group of Qatari publishers are expected to participate, including Dar Nabja, Dar Al-Watad and Rosa Publishing House.
Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al-Buainain, Director of the Department of Libraries and the Doha International Book Fair, said: The Ministry of Culture ensured that the participation of the State of Qatar in the next edition of the International Book Fair of Amman was distinctive, since the Ministry’s pavilion will be designed in the style of the traditional architecture of the State of Qatar and the intellectual production of the Ministry of Culture will be exhibited, in addition to participating in cultural events, poetry evenings and seminars related to publishing. industry in the State of Qatar, theater and a cultural symposium that deals with the novel, as well as a symposium that talks about Qatari heritage.
Al-Buainain added: Qatar’s participation in the Amman International Book Fair aims to build new relationships with those working in the field of culture and the publishing industry, in addition to presenting Qatari intellectual production to Qatari publishers and celebrating meetings with exhibition officials. and Jordanian publishers to discuss aspects of cooperation in authorship, translation and editing.
He explained: The participation of the Ministry of Culture in the 22nd edition of the exhibition includes the exhibition of various new publications of the Ministry in various sciences of knowledge, including novels, law, social sciences and humanities, in addition to outstanding publications of children’s books. and young people.
